A little about me
Born and bred in Dublin, Ireland, I moved to Montreal 11 years ago and immediately fell in love with it. Its a home away from home and I’m lucky to have a wonderful young family and some amazing friends to keep me from feeling homesick. Working all my life in ‘sensible’ jobs I studied fashion design just for fun and spent all my money on shoes!
Although I’ve always had a passion for dressmaking and fashion design, it was only when the need arose to create something practical for my son, that I started designing and making my Ragamuffins Bandana Bibs. Eoin was a big drooler until well over 2 years of age, and not just when he was teething. As a child with reflux, he was constantly soaking his tops, sometimes going through 5 or 6 per day! He always had to wear a bib, but the regular, cotton jersey ones I found locally were no match for this little boy! If they weren’t soaked within minutes, he would pull them off due to to itchy or non-durable velcro, and even if they did stay on, as a big 2 year old, he just looked scruffy wearing a bib all day … the day my mother called him a ‘little ragamuffin’ was the day I decided to put him out of his misery and create something comfortable, practical and as luck would have it … stylish.
